--> The Movie

The Good:
 Juno is an intelligently written comedy about a girl who decides to search for parents to adopt her unexpected child. Witty and entertaining, Juno creates an informative sense of what it would be like to be pitted in a scenario that no one can anticipate. As teen pregnancies become more prevalent in today's society it seems that a film written for the big screen about the subject was inevitable. Fortunately, Juno remains satisfyingly fresh and sophisticated. Performances by Ellen Page (Juno MacGuff) and Michael Cera (Paulie Bleeker) are both entertaining and well done. Nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture, Juno took home the award for Best Original Screenplay.

The Bad:
 While it is difficult to find any faults in Juno, I didn't love the movie enough to want to watch it over again. The humor is solid and unique but is generally not the kind that I want to go back and enjoy again anytime soon. Try it for yourself and see how it holds up for you after one viewing.

--> Video Quality

 Presented in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, Fox gives us Juno on Blu-ray in its original theatrical ratio. I was mostly pleased with this transfer. The picture quality succeeds by being consistently accurate in the areas of color, detail, and black levels. Shots are almost always in focus and while film grain is certainly noticeable, it is not degrading to the films picture.

--> Audio Quality

 Fox gives Juno the usual audio treatment with a DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 track which delivers the goods as it should. Vocal clarity is top notch while the unique songs selected for the film sound full bodied.

--> Extra Content

 There are many extras included on the Blu-ray edition of Juno. Unfortunately, none of them appear in high definition.

--> Summation

 Juno on Blu-ray is a solid effort on Fox's behalf. Although the bonus features are presented in standard definition, fans of the film should be satisfied by the well balanced transfer and the lossless soundtrack.
